Letter From Recruitment Chair
Hello, my name is Lin Elkins and I am the Membership Director for Phi Mu Lambda Beta at Appalachian State University! I’m so glad you are thinking about joining Greek life and seeing what our wonderful organization has to offer. Recruitment can be very daunting and shrouded in uncertainty. But as a girl who never thought she’d find her home in a Greek organization, I can honestly say that being a part of Phi Mu has helped me become the empowered woman I am today. As an out of state student, I came to AppState knowing no one, and Phi Mu gave me a place that I could call home. While going through formal recruitment, Phi Mu’s values and strong sisterhood was what drew me to join this organization. Now, the woman within this sisterhood show me loyalty and unwavering support in every endeavor I try to tackle.
We have been working very hard as a sisterhood to get ready for formal recruitment, and we cannot wait to add some amazing ladies to our chapter. If you are not fully convinced that you want to go through formal recruitment at Appalachian State, let me be the first to tell you that I felt the same way, and going through formal recruitment ended up being the best choice I ever could have made. I am looking forward to meeting every single one of you and wish you the best of luck in finding your home!
Love in our bonds,
